Eco artist Asif Farooq’s latest pop-up installation showcases more than 300 firearms handcrafted from cardboard. The installation is exhibited in a 400sqf retail space that is curated to simulate an authentic gun store. The installation is loaded with replicas that range from a traditional snub-nosed revolver to a more modern M16 assault rifle.
The Miami-based artist is meticulously faithful in reproducing the size, shape and individual components of each gun replica. The replicas are made using found cardboard boxes and shaped to perfection using an x-acto knife and some glue. The installation is a testament envisioned through the eyes of an artist raised in a gun-friendly environment.
